As I mentioned during our City Group Leader Training, this year we are implementing Serve Saturdays as a way to be engaged in our city on a more regular basis. We will do one event each quarter and it will be organized/led by two city groups and the entire church will be invited to come and join in.
Here is the schedule for the year:
Q4 (October, November, December) – Midtown (Grooms) & High Point Terrace
Q1 (January, February, March) – Colonial Rd & Binghampton
Q2 (April, May, June) – Midtown (Krueger) & The Heights
Q3 (July, August, September) – Marriage Re|engage & Sea Isle
This is completely up to you city group leaders to pick the date and the service project and provide leadership for our church to take part. Please keep in mind that this is not just a service project for these two city groups to do together but a project that we can invite the entire church to join in with us, these two groups are simply leading the planning of the service project. Look around your group at the ways you are gifted, the passions for the community from within your group and the natural connections with community organizations that are in your group to make the planning a little easier.
Please let me know if you have any questions on the planning of these projects. Also, we like to give our church a 3 week notice for most activities.
Mosaic Reminders
Here’s the thing – we are all super busy! As our church grows, there is more and more information to be shared and way too much to try to remember. We need multiple touch points and our City Groups are a naturally way to make sure our people are in the loop with all that is happening at Mosaic Church.
Each week in these emails, I’ll send out reminders for things happening in the next week to remind your people. I’ll also link the monthly calendar to download as well. I would highly encourage that one leader from each group would save this and send it out in the group text for our City Group to help your people stay up to date. Please provide your people with these reminders each week.
Coming Up:
- We need Trunk or Treat Volunteers – we had a big response thanks to Lindsay’s push on Sunday morning but you know our people need reminding. Please take the time to reach out if you are willing to help in any way – the next few weeks up until the day of the event itself. Email Lindsay at events@mosaicmemphis.com. Date for Trunk or Treat is October 29th from 2-4pm. Here is the signup link for volunteers.
- New Member Dinner is this Sunday at Brad & Janice’s house. Here is the list of folks who have joined in 2022 – if any of these folks are in your group, will you send them a personal text reminding them to RSVP to myself or Brad by Wednesday? 🙂
- If anyone is not signed up for the Weekly email, this link will get them signed up. Many of our new people are not signed up so please encourage them to do so.
